Pushkar is a town in the Ajmer district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is situated 14 km northwest of Ajmer. It is a holy town and has the only Brahma Temple in the world. As per Hindu mythology Brahma is the creator of the world. Pushkar, a destination with a Spiritual Bliss’ where paradoxes flourish - from Holy lakes to desert dunes; from labyrinthine bazaars to romantic retreats, from Divine experiences to outdoor adventures.

Pushkar Lake is a sacred lake of the Hindus. It is surrounded by 52 bathing ghats (a series of steps leading to the lake), where pilgrims throng in large numbers to take a sacred bath, especially around Kartik Poornima (October-November) when the Pushkar Fair is held. A dip in the sacred lake is believed to cleanse sins and cure skin diseases.
Over 500 Hindu temples are situated around the lake precincts.

Pushkar Fair (14 November - 23 November 2018):
The Pushkar Fair (Pushkar Camel Fair) or locally Pushkar ka Mela is an annual camel and livestock fair held in the town of Pushkar. It is one of the world’s largest camel fairs.
It will be celebrated from the 14 November till 23 November 2018 this year.
The full moon day (last day of the fair) is the main day and the day, according to legend, when the Hindu god Brahma sprung up the Pushkar Lake. Pilgrims throng in large numbers to take a sacred bath on the full moon day.
